Delicate Flower

Lavender mist, drenched in color
Fed by love and sun and water
Or petals wither, fade and pale
Saturate moss and leaves exhale
Treat with tenderness, gently nurture
Like a new love, delicate orchid

Inspired by Emily’s post… I was feeling pretty low on Wednesday, but flowers always make me smile. Especially the ones that bloom again and again.

One Trick Pony…

No matter how much that I wish it
No matter how pretty I dish it
I’m a one trick pony
Who hopes that you only
Get a laugh from my silly horse shit!

Inspired by What Sandra Thinks: The poet. It’s a hilarious look at poets and poetry. All in good fun, we aspire to do better, don’t we?

Color – A Limerick

In ‘pantelon rouge’ marched the army of France
But the uniform gave them little chance
To dodge the enemy bullet
In fact made them a target
All because of the color of their pants

In response to Mind and Life Matters limerick poetry challenge.

World War I: The very heavy French losses during the Battle of the Frontiers can be attributed in part to the high visibility of the French uniforms, combined with peacetime training which placed emphasis on attacking in massed formations. The shortcomings of the uniforms were quickly realized and during the first quarter of 1915 general distribution of horizon-blue clothing in simplified patterns had been undertaken.
