      2. I’m a little sluggish to get started, to tell the truth. I need a bit of a breather after wrapping up ‘Bread’ but hopefully I’ll get back in gear this week! Hope you all had a great day today!

  3. Sometimes the outlying buildings, eve with their exposed foundations and ruined walls, are as noteworthy as the main buildings themselves. I don’t know whether or not you’ll get to Tintern Abbey, but you will love it if you do. This is a lovely drawing that summarizes the spirit of solitude and quiet that lies just a little way off the eaten track. Thank you for bringing back the memories.

    1. I’m so glad you like it, Roger. I’ve read that it is a very popular scene for artists to draw and paint, so I am compelled to give it a go myself. As for the traveling … Unfortunately, there is so much to see we can’t possibly fit it all in. Which definitely means I need another trip over!

      1. I know the feeling. We used to each choose a top ten … and then try to visit the top three on each person’s list, one by one … It was amazing how disappointing some choices were … I remember the barbed wire Stonehenge when you couldn’t get within a hundred yards of the stones!!! We cried. I went there as a child, deserted spot, and clambered all over them, sheep and all.

      2. Ah, that is a shame. That’s where we are headed tomorrow… I remember visiting them when I was a child with my parents and you could still walk right among them. They must be getting damaged with all the visitors. Well, I’ll let you know how it goes after tomorrow.

      3. Apparently, access has been improved. They now want to drive the main highway underneath them, to take out the unsightly roads. Please let me know what you think of the current ‘touristic arrangements”. The historical heritage I amazing … my cousin was the town clerk who had control of the vicinity, a few years ago …

      4. Oh good! I hope we at least get ‘up close and personal’ with the stones. I really should’ve done more homework on this trip – but it was sort of last minute and hastily arranged!
