Elderflower Liqueur… Yeah, skip…

Ugh… Week 22 in the Year of Drinking Adventurously… Elderflower Liqueur.

Oh, I didn’t even try. The weekend had so many distractions. For one, my friend Tim got married on Saturday and I swear I’ve never been to a more fun wedding in my life. The music was awesome, the bride and groom were delirious, and the food was off the chart. I bought a ridiculous pair of heels, danced in them all night and woke up the next day, swearing I had stress fractures… (I don’t, I’m fine!)

I was trying to think of something fun to post instead of making something up about elderflower liqueur. It sounds like something I might enjoy…   But I’m afraid I will have to send you to Lula this week!

Promise I’ll be back next week with the booze du jour. Sorry about the fail, not…

  1. Is this related to Elderberry wine? My wife’s grandma used to make that. It was deceiving, because it tasted like fruit juice….but it’d kick your ass and quick if you weren’t careful. 😃

    1. Ha! That’s great! No, this is a flowering plant not a berry bush. Maybe you’ve heard of St. Germain? That’s elderflower liqueur. I haven’t tried it, but Lula says it’s very sweet and flowery. I’m sure I’ll get around to it eventually! 😀

      1. Yeah, I have heard of St Germaine. Never tried it though. I don’t usually go the liqueur route. Sweet and flowery doesn’t sound like my cup of tea. Let us know what ya think of it though. Oh, got your trout cut out and my wife is gonna get it painted in the next couple of days. I’ll send ya a pic as it gets together. 😃

      2. Not sure it’s my thing either! I am acquiring a whole lot of bottles I may never touch again!

Looking forward to seeing the progress on the fish! 😀 So you guys had some pretty high water for your kayaking trip? Glad you had a good time! Getting together with old friends is special indeed. I love those friends that you just pick up exactly where you left off with!

      3. Oh yeah, the water was terrific. Releases were done each day so it was rolling, and there’d been a lot of rain the prior few weeks so it was great. It’s really cool having long term friends like that, and even though we’re kinda spread out, we see each other pretty regularly. Very lucky. 😊

  2. St. Germain is my favorite thing ever!! So good dashed in champagne, presecco, cocktails, anything really! Expensive but I often buy multiple bottles because I never want to be without it!

  3. I LOVE the idea of foodie 2017! I think we should start our list.

I bought the airplane bottle of St Germain instead of spending $30 on a bottle I knew I wouldn’t use again.

I’m so glad you had a fabulous wedding weekend!
