F is for Firefly #atozchallenge

The crew of the good ship Serenity
Avoiding the Reavers’ vicinity
Mal Reynolds, the captain
Inara, the companion
And Kaylee to keep everything “shiny”

Ok, so this deserves some explanation for my non-nerd friends.  Firefly is a space “western” for lack of a better description, produced by Joss Whedon (The Avengers, etc.) that follows the crew of the Serenity, starring a whole lot of people you would recognize.  It only lasted half a season before it got cancelled, with great outcry by a faithful and vocal group of fans (like yours truly).  In order to appease the cult of Firefly, a feature length movie -Serenity- was commissioned to finish the story.  Nevertheless, fans are still whining about the cancellation to this day…

      1. And don’t get me started on the subject of critics slagging off Night of the Hunter and causing the director to quit! Better have some water before I start to rant ha.

      2. Six degrees of separation: my father’s cousin was Talbot Jennings, who wrote the screenplay for Mutiny on the Bounty starring Charles Laughton! (Four degrees, actually) 😃

  1. Oh wow. I have seen you everywhere, Dr. Sorick, but I am soooo glad I follow you now. You are truly amazing. I would have never guessed in a million years you would like Firefly. Amazing!!!! 😀

  2. I literally still watch old episodes every single day. I currently get the Firefly Loot Crate and find other items (like the phrase book) on amazon and other places and continue to try to fill the void. I know that sometimes, things are better left where they ended, but I can’t help my want for more! So, I just keep buying all things shiny until there’s no more…then…who knows what I’ll do!
