This weeks theme for Cee’s Black and White Challenge is: circles or curves. Some museum pieces this week:
This is the central roundel of a 4th century AD mosaic floor from a villa at Hinton St. Mary, Dorset (in the British Museum). It is one of the most important early Christian remains from the Roman Empire.
Silver plate with David anointed by Samuel. Gift of JP Morgan to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The world’s most famous stone circle: Stonehenge
I’m jealous! I’ve always wanted to see Stonehenge in person. That’s a great photo.

Thanks Rob! Definitely put it on your bucket list. They don’t let you touch it anymore, it was getting too damaged, but you can still get pretty close!

I was fortunate to visit many times in the days when you could touch, and even climb!

Oh wow! That’s really awesome. I was there as a child of 6 when you could touch. Unfortunately I don’t really remember it very well now. But there is photographic evidence somewhere!

These are great…then you dropped the mic with the Stonehenge shot. 😃

Hahaha! Thank you! Yeah, I couldn’t resist. It was a gloomy atmospheric day. Probably would have looked black and white without any filters!
