I should have planned better… I did a water lily for ‘plants’, evil daffodils for ‘brand new’ and here I am doing yet another drawing of a ‘flower’ for this week’s sketch. These posies might not exist in nature…

I love animals but they are hard to draw. So far the best animal drawing I’ve done is of my friend Son of a Beach’s donkeys Ticky and Tacky. I was really tempted to cheat and use that drawing for the challenge. However, I am drawing every week so as to improve, thus recycling an old drawing doesn’t help. I have both a dog and a cat for pets and I drew my cat for the ‘four legged friend’ challenge and ‘pets’ is an upcoming challenge so I’ll save the dog for that week. What’s my next favorite animal? The adorable and ever so clever SQUIRRELS!!!!

I love all kinds of music and what I listen to is largely dependent on my mood and whatever activity I’m engaged in. When I am writing I tend to listen to music without lyrics so as not to be distracted by ‘words’ –this means soft electronic music, jazz or classical. In that spirit, I chose to draw a violin for my challenge this week and to share a few minutes of one of my favorite pieces of violin music: Brahms Violin Sonata No. 3
