When you aspire to write a novel
You may end up living in a hovel
If your day job you quit
In a premature fit
Of rage, then to your boss you must grovel!

Though beautiful she appears
Beneath lies pain and fear
Like a wounded animal
Terrified and feral
She won’t let you near
In response to Mind and Life Matters limerick challenge
I need my pain to feel alive
To rise above, to just survive
But if you take my pain away
Heal my wounds, my fears allay
My chance to grow, you will deprive
