Wedding – a limerick

When Jesse and June got to lovin’
Soon June had a bun in the oven
And though the wedding was white
The groom was a’fright
At the end of her daddy’s loaded shotgun!

Ah, love! Ain’t it grand! In response to Mind and Life Matters weekly limerick challenge!

Delicate Flower

Lavender mist, drenched in color
Fed by love and sun and water
Or petals wither, fade and pale
Saturate moss and leaves exhale
Treat with tenderness, gently nurture
Like a new love, delicate orchid

Inspired by Emily’s post… I was feeling pretty low on Wednesday, but flowers always make me smile. Especially the ones that bloom again and again.

One Trick Pony…

No matter how much that I wish it
No matter how pretty I dish it
I’m a one trick pony
Who hopes that you only
Get a laugh from my silly horse shit!

Inspired by What Sandra Thinks: The poet. It’s a hilarious look at poets and poetry. All in good fun, we aspire to do better, don’t we?
