A biweekly challenge for a total of 26 drawings this year.
I’m not sure April’s showers have ended, at least here in Bucks County, but they have ushered in the leaves on the trees and the blooms in the fields. Spring is in full swing so for this biweekly challenge the theme is:
The theme is “Spring” which to me conjures flowers and blooms. I’m not great with charcoal so I decided to practice this week. Filling in the background resulted in unintentionally creating a ‘negative’ image. With all my many attempts in charcoal, this was the best of the lot. As you can see, I need to practice a lot more! Nevertheless, here is my spring lily in Charcoal
This started out as another abstract forest. I was trying to duplicate the one I’d done before and ended up ruining it. But not one to waste a canvas, I painted over the mess and tried something different. I began with an underpainting, then added layers to create a wild flower garden. Sigh… I actually think the under painting is better. Might have to do that over again.
