Eastbound…

I head east to Ireland on Thursday for ten days. I’m not sure how this will impact my posting. Either I will be noticeably absent or annoyingly present. Depends on what kind of trouble I find to get into. I have no idea what I’m going to do this time. The trip is completely spontaneous. But poor planning is the key to flexibility!

One nice thing about returning to a place you’ve visited before is the comfortable familiarity. “Home” base will be Galway but from there I will wander. Perhaps a couple days in Dublin. Or maybe Northern Ireland… I’ve never made it up there. We’ll see. Most of all I am looking forward to rest, to following my feet, to not having a schedule and being free to do as I please.

So maybe there will be photos, poems, fairytales and stories. Or maybe there will be nothing at all!

Fairytale – A Limerick

Once upon a time, I turned the fairytale to horror
As your queen, I ruled through threats and terror
And isn’t it a pity
To suffer my pretties..
So… Who’s the fairest, Mirror, Mirror?

Your suffering means nothing to me
I relish the chance to inflict cruelty
Your hearts I will wrest
Pull them live from your chests
And let you feel the full force of my malignity

Don’t for a minute, think I’ve softened my stance
Oppose me, you don’t stand a chance
For vengeance I swear
Stand aside or prepare
To be party to this most wicked dance….

I got a little carried away with this one…
