Is it any surprise that I would choose Snoopy as the World War One Flying Ace for my comic strip? Thank you Charles Schulz for the beagle with a fantastic imagination. Here he is going off to meet the Red Baron:
One of my favorite stories of all time is Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland. When I was a child, I had a paperback copy of the book illustrated by Sir John Tenniel. Alas, somewhere between my college apartment and relocating after graduation, the book went missing. I forgot about it until recently, when I read an article about the illustrated Alice. Many artists have been inspired by Lewis Carroll’s classic. I repurchased the book along with Through the Looking Glass, in digital format, with a lovely brief biography of the illustrator at the end. Here is my animal personified: White Rabbit inspired by the Tenniel illustration.
