In the wee hours of the morning, when the cat inevitably wakes me up to go out, I can hear a pair of owls hooting – one close and one farther away. I’ve never caught a glimpse of them, but I imagine them nestled in some hiding place till after sunset.

Love it, Doc! Owls are so cool. We have one roosted near us too. I hear it nearly every night. But it’s very, very elusive. Yet to see it. 😃

Did you know it takes 2 to make that sound? The Twit is a call and the Twoo a response. I didn’t know that until about 5 years ago!

When I worked in a park, I used to occasionally hear great horned owls hooting to each other a sunset. It felt magical to listen to them.
