The prompt for Cee’s Black and White Challenge this week is “words that end in ‘ock'”. I went from the mundane to the majestic for this one.

  1. So these photos aren’t supposed to be taken only after the prompt has been set?

I used to enter a monthly photo competition and that was tough enough to try and find something which fitted when given a whole month. I did win it once though :o)

    1. They don’t have to be taken after the prompt. If I can do that, I try to. The first two shots: rocks and blocks, I took after the fact, but obviously the other two are older! 😜 I love black and white photography and use my photos as subjects for drawings sometimes!

      1. Same here, the last time I used an SLR (ancient old Zenith – 100% manual, no electronics) it was with monochrome 35mm. In fact, one of those would be good for that portrait project thinking about it… hmmm….

Big Ben is full coated in scaffolding now so well done on getting that image.

      2. Is it?!? Wow lucky break! I was there in May 2017. We found Canterbury cathedral covered in scaffolding then, however.

I’m in over my head with my camera…. they are easy and complicated at the same time. Auto settings are great but to adjust manually the menus you have to wade through … agh!!!

      3. Yes, it’s covered up until well into 2020 I think.

Canterbury is close to where I live, that one is probably worse as they’ve got scaffolding inside the building as well!!

      4. Yes! And even under construction it’s magnificent! So I can just imagine what it will look like with restoration. Well I’ll just have to come back, won’t I! 😃
