Spending a week on the Outer Banks of North Carolina gave me an opportunity to mess around with my camera. I admit I’m in over my head. I had high hopes for watching tutorials and learning the ins and outs but no dice. Happy hour started at noon most days and well… that is rarely conducive to getting stuff done. Nevertheless, the weather was unsettled and made for some pretty sunsets and the rough surf and the seabirds are always picturesque. Have a look.

Who needs all the bells and whistles when AUTO works so well. We have a guy in Derbyshire who has a really successful photography business and he admits to mostly not understanding the cameras he uses, certainly when he first became successful.
Check him out on Facebook.

Stormy weather makes for some great scenes. Not so great for hanging on the beach, however… But that didn’t stop me!

These are are great, Doc. Just keep snapping. You’ll get the hang of it. And once you do, look out. 😃😃
Unsettled weather isn’t unusual out there, especially this time of year. Definitely beats workin’, regardless. 😃

For sure! Yeah I don’t mind the weather. It’s good to feel that salty wind on your face. I really thought I’d get a chance to write and sketch though and it didn’t happen. Oh well… plenty of time in the deep dark winter. 😨

You may not think it, but I think you’re improving. The photo of the gull flying…wow ! As for tutorials wander on over to the youtube site (https://www.youtube.com/). Enter the type of camera you have into the search area at the top of the page along with the word “tutorials”. You are getting better, much better. If that doesn’t work try phoning the place where you got the camera and asking them about tutorials for novices

Good suggestions. Thanks! I know there is a tutorial for almost anything these days. I have to check the Sony website. They might even have something. Anyway, thank you for the encouragement!

Beautiful pictures! Thank you for the virtual trip to the seaside with cumulus clouds and seagulls. Very much like the Ontario Great Lakes at times.
