About Me

What would you like to know? Something brought you to this page, this blog. I can’t tell you everything about me. Some of that I haven’t figured out for myself. However…

I am a writer. I write because I love to read. In fact, I’m a book junkie. I need to read. I want to climb in books and live there. I want to meet the characters, walk in their shoes, fight their battles, fall in love with their heroes…  Oh, I do go on, don’t I? Anyway, what passionate reader doesn’t dream about being a writer?  Ah, perhaps that’s just me. Does that mean I’m living the dream? Well, maybe. I’m sure every writer’s dream is to end up a best seller or at least modestly profitable. Nevertheless, an aspiring author knows this is a marathon not a sprint.

What do I write about?  I have published five books in a series on Amazon. The novels are set in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where I lived for 25 years. They are stories about ordinary people with families, people who fall in love and sometimes find themselves in outrageous circumstances.  Add some suspense, humor, family dynamics and good conversation and voila! Please visit my Author Page  or see The Bucks County Novels page for a synopsis of each of the titles. My debut novel: Three Empty Frames won first prize in The Writer’s Digest E-book Awards for Mainstream Fiction. I have a stand alone historical novel in the works, which I hope to have completed and  ready for publication in 2020. My poem “Just Burn” has been published in Diverse Verse, A Poetry Collection and my short story “Dissolved” has been published in Pennsylvania’s Emerging Writers 2018.

On my blog, I share my short stories, research and some of the lessons I’ve learned on writing and editing –including errors and blunders– and the things that move and inspire me. You will also find my poetry, art and photography –my other grand passions. I love the idea of connecting with other creative people who are trying to live their dreams, as well. Honest feedback is always welcome, just promise to be respectful and courteous. And above all else, know that I am very happy to meet you!

  1. Hello Dr Meg the self confessed book junkie, I’m Raili. Not quite as addicted as you by the sounds, but getting there! I came over for a nosey from Jacquie’s party.

  2. You had me at the quote 🙂 I love his quotes too. Two of my favs being “Women are made to be loved, not understood.” and “To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.” 🙂
As I have been ranting at a few of your posts ( I would have happily at more, but did not want to scare you off while I am visiting your blog for the first time!) I just adore your blog and your posts here. ❤ So happy to have connected with such a talented blogger. Welcoming you to visit my little corner in the world of blogs when you have time 🙂 Cheers and Warmest wishes, Minaxi 🙂

  3. I am just starting my blogging/writing journey. Or should I say re-starting. The writing part at least, isn’t new. Thanks for following and letting me follow you!

  4. So fun to discover you here (kind of via Myths of the Mirror blog). We writers support each other in so many fabulous ways. I once lived in Wilmington DE, and my mom still lives there, so I’m quite familiar with the beautiful scenery in Bucks County. I’ll enjoy the setting in reading one of your books. Which one do you suggest I start with? Three Empty Frames?

  5. I am already so impressed with your writing. Personally, I think it such a wonderful accomplishment to bring a book to fruition. There is so much that goes into that journey, and I truly admire those that walk this path. Look forward to discovering your world! 🙂

    1. Hi Jayden. No I’m not participating this year. Too many other irons in the fire! Best of luck with your challenge and your writing. I’ll follow your progress as well. And thanks so much for connecting with me!

  6. What if you were able to whip-up a long, tall, slender black tribal woman, with colorful glowing tattoos and stone piercings in her lobes?! My main character, Mother Magdalena. Think, maybe, Pocahontas meets Avatar, but in a post-apocalyptic world. She wears a golden glowing dress of brilliance, woven from the very photon-fibers of the Sun, and carries a golden scepter something to the likes of what Stargirl carries into Justice League battles. Would love to see what you could do with this, given you have the time. Thanks! -MIKE EYE / darkesoterika.com

    1. She sounds amazing! That would be a fabulous challenge, Mike. I wish I could really see through your eyes. I would want to do her justice. Let me think about it!
