Inevitable

She’s a hollow reed
Dried and brittle at season’s end
Bent by the winds
Stripped by the storm
Bowing to the earth
In graceful submission

What else can you do?
But face the inevitable
With quiet contemplation
Serenity and acceptance
Fulfilling a purpose, knowing
That this was all there ever was

[Painting my own.]

      1. Definitely. But liberating too. I am able to keep books, art and some personal mementos. Fortunately, we had already downsized in moving to our current house so it’s better than it would have been a few years ago!

      2. Hahaha! Lord, you’re preachin’ to the choir. I feel bad for boys when we’re gone. They’re gonna have a ton of stuff to deal with. Well, unless we sell it all and move to a beach shack. I sure hope it ends up being the latter. 😃

    1. I’m saying goodbye to all that’s familiar in my life and walking into the (almost) unknown. With change there is always loss but the adventure is worth it!
