Following the chart to 52 drawings this year.
In mid to late May, the Baltimore Orioles return to Southeastern Pennsylvania. Their song is my favorite of all the birds. They are very shy, so I rarely see them, but their double noted trill is distinct. Early in the morning, with the sun just peeking through the trees, you can hear them calling to each other. Here is my Baltimore Oriole done in colored pencil so as to show off the bright orange markings:
I love the colors

We get an Oriole or two through here, but not until late summer. They’re rare to spot though. They do have a pretty song. Great job on the sketch. 😃

Rained all day here off and on. Still got a couple runs in today though, and 3 yesterday. Lightning is here now, so off the water, but the outdoor center is working just fine at the moment. 🙂

I love colored pencils. It’s obvious because I have, like, 5 sets of them. I think I have a problem. lol The drawing is lovely!

I used light pressure so it wouldn’t get streaky and colored in small sections at a time. I used a cotton ball to go over it at the end to blend any spots that seemed uneven. 🙂

With a black head like a crow’s and a bright orange hued body with a spectacular tail, this bird is super!
