Sunday Sketch – Wine and Cheese

It was time to paint the kitchen. I changed the color from a sage green to a cheerful blue. It kind of looks ‘beachy’ now. With that in mind, some of the artwork no longer looks good against the color. I have a small blank space that I want to try and fill with a piece of my own art. So what goes well in the kitchen? A still life. Let’s see if I can pull off painting something like this preliminary sketch. Or maybe that’s too cliche…. Hmmm.

    If you’re going beach, and Key West style, maybe a front porch setting, with gingerbreading in the eaves. Maybe a harbor scene, shrimp boat nets, that sorta thing. Doesn’t necessarily have to be beach to be beachy. 😃

    1. Just so it goes with the color… Btw, fishy is right at home in the living room! (Honestly with my current skill level, I might not be able to manage anything too complicated. But I’ll try!)

      2. I will! There’s no rule that says I have to hang it if I don’t like it. And it’ll be good practice for me. I have to go look at your photos for inspiration!
