Out of Reach

I idly sit and watch from my throne of inertia
While the bridges I so carefully built
Are thoroughly and systematically destroyed
And with them, the pathways are forever cut off,
Leaving one side of the shore isolated from the other
Except for the occasional stone you throw
Which lands harmlessly at my feet
It’s as if the tectonic plates have shifted beneath us
And earth itself has put me beyond your reach

    1. Thanks, Beach. I keep a notebook of ideas. I’m an observer – and people watcher. You can tell a lot about a relationship by seeing the couple interact when they don’t know anyone is watching. Ok, now I sound like a creep! You know what I mean! Lol!

  1. This is very deep Meg. The images are stunning and I see a likeness here that makes me uncomfortable. I don’t think I have to tell you that that is not a “bad thing”. Writing should convey emotions which others find familiar…even less desirable ones. We share our experiences and our beliefs with the hopes that others can see we do not walk these roads alone.

This is very well done, Lady. Brava!
