If you do, I suggest acrylics. You can use them a bit like watercolours but also whack it on thick like oils. Watercolour technique is quite challenging (never really got the hang of it myself) and oils can be messy (and smelly). I think you could have a bit of an experiment with acrylics to get used to them before you start lessons – they can be thinned with water or used ‘neat’ but they’ll dry out within about 30 mins of being squeezed out of the tube. You’ll need a palette to mix the colours too. Just have a bash 🙂
