Tempis fugit, seasons change
The Harvest Moon begins to wane
And the solar terminator
Is perpendicular to the equator
Daylight retreats and night remains
In response to Mind and Life Matters limerick poetry challenge; the prompt this week was “seasons.”
I didn’t exactly follow the rules and include all four seasons…
Such a creative take! Love this, Meg. 💜

Thanks, Kay. Didn’t include all four seasons. Automatic disqualification! I couldn’t do it, though!

Aw, thanks Diane! I love the autumn and with it upon us, that’s all I could think about!

That may be my least favorite thing about winter. It’s dark when I leave for work and nearly dark when I get home. That and freezing my ass off. That sucks too. 😃

I know what you mean. I like all four seasons but do miss the lack of daylight. I even like snow. And shoveling it, can you believe it? And stacking firewood… Oh I can’t wait!

Jesus, now I’m just depressed. How long til April? 😃

Eh, not your fault. Winter is coming whether I like it or not. And just to be clear, I don’t like it…at all. 😃

I like the idea of night “remaining” at the end which is what it does.

Thank you, Frank. It feels like the stretch of long nights last longer than the daylight does during the summer months!

Awesome! I hate the darkness of winter. 😦 But this is a wonderful poem! 🙂

Thank you. Yeah that’s the part I don’t like, but I do kind of like hibernating…

Lol. I am enjoying sweaters. So that’s a plus.

Me, too! 😀 I can switch from the all black t-shirt collection to the all black cardigan collection!

LOL. Do you wear all black?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Almost exclusively. My wardrobe is nearly automated that way – just pull the clean sweater from the top of the pile! Lol!

Well that makes things easy! Do you wear black pants too?

Mostly jeans. I also rotate in a series of casual black dresses and tights. I’m a ninja. 😜

That’s fun! I want to be a ninja! Perhaps I should rethink my wardrobe… 😄

Ahhh winter and those long nights.. what is there not to love. Sunlight is so garish and vulgar

I am so not surprised by this comment. I enjoy the winter, myself.

I am playing up to type, but I do like winter.

I really do too. I like the clothes better. Black cardigan versus black t-shirt, black boots instead of black sandals…

I like coats as well… winter is far more stylish

Most definitely. But you don’t get much snow where you are. Philadelphia sometimes gets buried. And its forced hibernation. And its wonderful!

I know… sometimes I wish I could live in Norway but its so spendy
LikeLiked by 1 person
You know, I think Norwegians are some of the happiest people on the planet. Or perhaps its Sweden… too lazy to look it up, but its one of the Scandinavian countries. I think its expensive but perhaps they get what they pay for.

I think they are all pretty happy up in Scandinavia. Norway is super expensive but they are loaded. They were rich and then they discovered vast oil deposits. Also the kroner is a titanium strong that currency.

Damn, I guess won’t be adding it to my list of potential emigration countries if things go horribly wrong in November.

Definitely worth a visit though, just don’t think about the expense while you are there. I think I have an angle for the munch post, just bear with me (as always)

Post done, i had to do a fair amount of research as I had never heard of the artist before today. I think you will see why this falls into the category what cake likes

The more subtle charms of autumn, over the more showy magic of spring (lambs? yuck!); summer (a bit of sun’s nice, but come on…) and winter (ditto snow)… 🙂

Hahaha! That’s perfect, although I do enjoy the forced hibernation of snow. And oddly, I enjoy shoveling!

Shoveling snow is admittedly more fun than shoveling anything else!

I love it, too. Grab that soft hoodie (yes, I am 17)… drink extra coffee at night. But… I still want to wear sandals. As I said to my daughter… “but now I have to wear whole shoes…” 😀
