Your muscles may ache, but you’re not complaining
You run in the heat and when its hard raining
Through the downpour you dash
Through the puddles you splash
All for the sake of your marathon training

Great poem, but running? Ugh. I’d sooner go to the dentist than run a mile. 😃

You know what? That totally surprises me. You’re so outdoorsy and stuff. I see you tearing up the road!

I love hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, road cycling, swimming, surfing. But running for the sake of running? Hate it. When I was playing sports growing up, I never minded the running associated with playing the game, but running laps in practice was like hell to me. Guess I never got over that. 😃

I wasn’t great at team sports (not skilled with the bat or the hockey stick and too uncoordinated for basketball) but I ran track and cross country. Because all you needed was your feet!

Hahaha! I sucked at basketball too. I played baseball and football through my junior year and golf all four years of high school. Had to quit most sports so I could work my senior year though. All good though. I wasn’t gonna get an atheletic scholarship anyway, that’s for sure. 😃

Oh well. But hey, made it through anyway…somehow. 😃

Great sentiments in few words. My daughter took up sprinting so she wouldn’t have so far to run! I raced a half-marathon once, but never raced over the full distance.

That’s awesome! I never made the distance either. But I do love the effect those endorphins have on you. wonderful for clearing the mind, too. 😀

I did it a lot of long-distance running when I was in school. It allowed me to get out of the school grounds and attain a certain amount of freedom.

I ran cross country in high school, too. It is freeing, even if you’re not the fastest horse in the race. (Which I certainly wasn’t!)

Perfect! I could never run a marathon! I get so bored running. Lol.

i’ve never done that kind of distance either. I maxed out at eight miles. And I’ve slacked off recently. My goal is to get going again now that cooler weather is here. 😀

I run about 4 miles at a time, quite slowly, lol. I was a sprinter in school but I’m not fast anymore. I prefer to lift weights but I’m thinking about trying to run longer distances. But after 45 minutes I’m soooo bored. 😋

Audiobooks save the day! Oh and I’m slow now, too. I wish I liked lifting weights… Sigh…

I’m like that dog in Up with audiobooks. I’m a visual person and they just don’t hold my attention. I’m too in my head and my mind wanders, lol. But it is a good idea. On lifting weights- get a cute trainer. 😉 That’s my secret!

Now that’s what I’m talking about! And you need a man with a British accent to read to you – like Colin Firth or Jeremy Irons!

Ooh yeah! I love those Brits!!

No better way than running!

I’d be deceiving if I said it was all running! I started walking. I had a lot to lose. Still have a little (although my body seems not understand that!).
Have a great evening!

Ahhh you runners…my motto is if you are going to be idle (and I am an idle rogue) then one should be thoroughly idle

My motto: I run for beer and dessert. How can you have a sweet tooth and stay slim otherwise?

True, I would only ever run to catch a plane or train or if the law was after me, maybe.

Or if there was cake at the finish line

Great take on the photo. You know, I have always wanted to train until I could run a marathon. I would never actually run one, but I’d love to be able to…

I would too. It’s still a goal Although it might be newsworthy by the time i accomplish it – 99 year old woman finishes marathon in 12 hours … You now what I’m saying!

Oh, I know what you mean. I’m not motivated enough right now…
