They are mesmerizing. I wish I could paste here! My daughter drew an amazing jellyfish, one that may be a tattoo for me one day.

The Monterey Aquarium – not in nature, unfortunately. But the perfect contrast to the creatures!

Oh, do you think they color the water? I never thought of that.

No, it’s the color of the inside walls of the tanks they’re in.

I haven’t seen anything quite like this. I have been stung many times by this creature as a kid living on the beach. The sea is filled with unimaginable life forms.

It is! I’ve never seen these in nature. I imagine it would be quite an experience!

They are sometimes washed up on the shore and one must be very careful where they step, they still sting. The “so called” remedy is vinegar which one can get at the lifeguard stand. I was once stung by a Man-O-War, they look much the same but believe me, when they sting you you know it is a MoW. 🙂

Oh man! I can’t imagine what that feels like. I’ve never been stung, even by the little ones in my nearby patch of sand or in my travels either. Wow, a Man of War! 😦

Thanks! I think sea creatures are some of the most unusual and interesting animals.

My mom once told me to scatter her ashes at the beach… but not in the water because she’s afraid of sharks.

You know, I’ve heard that! Must be the ammonia in urea! 😀

Soldiers used to wee in their hard leather boots to soften them and it also acted as a soothing agent for the inevitable blisters. Works with burns too.
Well, that’s it. Am now up to date with your posts. Time to finish the whisky and off to bed.
