Self Care

The awards notice on the top of my sidebar seems to be of no consequence to my dear friends here on WP! I do appreciate being nominated. It’s just that I feel weird trying to pass the award on to others. And for either one of two reasons: 1) leaving someone out or 2) forcing the burden of passing it on to another. Nevertheless, my recent nomination by Tarnished Soul for the Miranda Sings Award presented an opportunity to do something that I might actually need right now. Find seven things to love about myself. I know, it sounds a bit egotistical, doesn’t it? I suppose it would be if you were a naturally confident, self assured, positive and extroverted person. Yeah, I’m not…tmsa.png

Seven things I love about myself. Uh, here goes..

  1. I have excellent reading comprehension skills.
  2. I am extremely inquisitive. (Though some would say that’s not a good thing).
  3. I really like my current haircut. (I know that’s stupid, but I’m already struggling with this.)
  4. My boobs are nice. (TMI, but they are!)
  5. I have a good sense of humor. (Obviously!)
  6. Oh yeah… I guess I’m good at this writing thing. Maybe. Or at the very least I like what I write!
  7. I must be humble because I can’t think of another damned thing…

Here’s where I deviate from the rules. I’m not going to pass on the nomination to anyone else. But thanks again my friend Tarnished Soul for thinking of me! You are a sweetheart!

  1. Actually, I feel worried I’ll leave someone out too…I used to refuse doing them and the one reason I chose to do this one is because it coaligned with my need to find things about myself I liked.
    So, it was a challenge.

Thank you for doing this! 🌸

  2. Ahh great! I was nominated for my first ever blog. But the rules! Answer 11 questions then nominate 11 different people. Yikes. What if I leave someone out? What if the only blog I like is mine (and The Phil Factor)? Do I then just nominate us both? Anyway, I liked the way you handled it. Polite, followed the rules and then said you were changing up the rules. Bravo! BTW…I nominated you for the Sunshine Award…only kidding. 😉

  3. I’m glad you got the chance to find some things you like about yourself. I’m sure there are many more wonderful things about you. You love your boobs. Lol. That’s awesome because I almost always hear the opposite from women. 😀

  4. Interesting set of facts, there. As to nobody noticing your line at the top of your sidebar about being award-free, maybe you need to make it an image. I made mine using a frame I found on Google, but if you Google “Award-Free Blog” there are LOTS of images you can use.

      1. Thanks, Doc! Loved the one on Trappist ale today by the way. We have monks near us, believe it or not. Merton lived there for a long time even. They make lots of goods for sale, but no beer, unfortunately. 😃

  5. I was also nominated for this one… (also by Tar)… and I feel bad that I haven’t done it. I tried but I could not come up with even one thing to list. So I promptly gave up….. I suppose there’s the boob thing. And I’m ‘wicked’ smart. Maybe the writing thing, too, but I still lack confidence there. Oh, hair. Ha! You also mentioned this one. I do love my hair. Sigh. So… maybe I have 4. Maybe.

And you are awesome. And I understand that it’s hard to see that in yourself. Supposedly I am wonderful, etc., but I just don’t see it!

    1. Yeah, I had a tough time with it, but I didn’t want to let him down either! So four things isn’t bad! You are awesome, too! List “good friend” as number five! And “super mom” as number six!
