Little Girl Blue

For a rainy day…  Actually Anita O’Day’s version of this song actually cheers me up.

Anita O’Day (born Anita Belle Colton; October 18, 1919 – November 23, 2006) was an American jazz singer widely admired for her sense of rhythm and dynamics, and her early big band appearances that shattered the traditional image of the “girl singer”. Refusing to pander to any female stereotype, O’Day presented herself as a “hip” jazz musician, wearing a band jacket and skirt as opposed to an evening gown. She changed her surname from Colton to O’Day, pig Latin for “dough,” slang for money. (From wikipedia)

    1. I find the older I get, the more broad my musical horizons become. Just beginning to appreciate country… sort of. But I love old jazz, not modern so much. And I really did work at a big band AM radio station! 😜

      1. I worked at an alt rock station. On air 6-10am… 4 days/week! Good times. I can guarantee I will never like country music. It makes me want to heave. I don’t know… I just cannot stand it. Jazz… well, I won’t upchuck or anything, but it’s not a preference. 🙂

      2. Haha! Ok, noted… No more Florida Georgia Line videos or Sandra will heave! But seriously have you seen those guys? 😍 And jazz is a situational thing: wine, nice restaurant, etc or alternatively it’s my “sad” music… Like when I am wallowing and don’t want to snap out of it. Oh alt rock station sounds way too much fun!

      3. Oh, silly, you post whatever you want. 🙂 I just won’t listen… LOL I don’t mind looking at some of those country guys (Keith Urban)… but I just can’t listen. LOL

You already know my answer to sad music… Morrissey/The Smiths/The Cure (especially Disintegration)

My friend and I had a very creative name for our radio show. But damn, I had to drag his ass out of bed pretty much every time. He was never a morning person…
