Ok, so this deserves some explanation for my non-nerd friends. Firefly is a space “western” for lack of a better description, produced by Joss Whedon (The Avengers, etc.) that follows the crew of the Serenity, starring a whole lot of people you would recognize. It only lasted half a season before it got cancelled, with great outcry by a faithful and vocal group of fans (like yours truly). In order to appease the cult of Firefly, a feature length movie -Serenity- was commissioned to finish the story. Nevertheless, fans are still whining about the cancellation to this day…

I liked that it portrayed space travel as more dirty and dangerous than shows like Star Trek. And the Reavers were terrifying!

Sadly, this is always what I think of when I hear “firefly” – my nerdiness usually outshines my romanticism, unfortunately! And I still love your song!

I know! At least today sometimes another network or Netflix or somebody will pick it up. That’s what happened with Longmire – another of my favorite shows.

As a big Buffy fan I totally need to get into it. As for best ever cancelled shows I’d have to say My So called Life. One series 😦

I literally still watch old episodes every single day. I currently get the Firefly Loot Crate and find other items (like the phrase book) on amazon and other places and continue to try to fill the void. I know that sometimes, things are better left where they ended, but I can’t help my want for more! So, I just keep buying all things shiny until there’s no more…then…who knows what I’ll do!
