The journey would come at great cost
Into the realm of Mordor, they crossed
From The Fellowship of the Ring
To The Return of the King
“Not all who wander are lost!”

You are so clever! Paul was just watching The Hobbit!

I have loved these books since I was about 14 years old. I re-read them once in a blue moon. In fact, I think I’m due! I have to watch the last installment of The Hobbit. After all Aidan Turner’s in it! 😀

I read them as a teen, too. The movies were good, but I’m a book person…

Me too! I want to cast my own characters in their roles!

I love the films, and your homage to them. Well done, Meg!

I think Peter Jackson did an amazing job with those films. Have you read the books?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes, I have. I think that he did as well as could be done with a fantasy film. The only other film based on a book that was done as well was the Shining. IMO, of course. 😀

I will have to take your word for it! I haven’t read The Shining! Shame on me! I do love the film, though. Ok, Rob, how do you feel about Dune? The book or the film (David Lynch version).

I haven’t seen that film! As I recall, it was a long film, right? Do you suggest it?

There’s a 3 hour version and something like a 7 hour version. And though it’s a little dated, it’s still really cool! Personally, I like the long version. The abridged version doesn’t tell the story as well. Dune is one of those books I’d want with me if I were marooned on a desert island. The level of world building Frank Herbert does is just off the charts. Oh I’m babbling! Can you tell how much I love it? 🙂

Lol! I do love the worlds that authors create. Lovecraft was able to do that well, although I’d get a bit too creeped out if that were my only book while marooned on an island.

Great piece. I am a fan of that quote at the end. It connotes a lot of meaning.

We (hubbs & I) love LOTR, though I admit sheepishly to never having read past The Hobbit, we have a yearly movie marathon of all three. Limerick? What a fun introduction! Sounds like a nice new challenge I must try.
